We have bi-passed the ingredients within the ancient guidelines for human behavior, the ones many cultures around the world have implemented for centuries. Those teachings have the potential to sustain a peaceful world and harmonious environment. These days humans do not pay attention to the subtle magnificence that surrounds us. We are on our cell phones looking for relationship and affirmation on a flat screen. Those screens have put us to sleep. The number of clicks and likes will not help you when the doctor tells you there is cancer in your bones. The one minute video you saw 10 years ago will not interest your children. That notification that things are out of your control will rock your world and send you into a tailspin. Humanity is interdependent on the well-being of one another, face to face, and you cannot participate as well through a digital screen. If each of us focuses to Sustain a Peaceful World, everyone’s intentions, desires and actions will affect the community and planet we live on.
Heal Yourself
Is there a need for healing our spiritual selves, in our families, communities, nations, and religions? Is there a need for confronting our interior disconnect?
We find a way to sustain a peaceful world one life and one minute at a time. The amount of peace you can embrace each day will transform everyone around you. Your stillness benefits them as well as you, while you notice the earth changing. Moments of awareness become a daily lifestyle of commitment to a global culture of non-violence. Aren’t we all getting sick and tired of the rampant oppression, repetitive commentary, senseless injury, torture, or killing of other human beings and the planet?
Spiritual Life and a Peaceful World
Spiritual life requires treating others as we wish others to treat us; each of us can sustain a peaceful world within. We can respect everyone’s dignity and individuality, without exception. We have to learn, learn to open our hearts and allow the narrow differences between us to exist without resistance. Take every opportunity to move towards solidarity. See and consider humankind as a family and species, living in a finite world with unlimited potential.
Get off the cell phone for a few hours and intentionally try to see what is going on around you. The world is beautiful and is aching to be noticed. Forgiveness, kindness and generosity foster lives of service for the common good. Spiritual healing for everyone will come as each of us reaches towards finding our potential as good and whole human beings.
