Face of Christ

Description

The Face of Christ is such a simple and direct icon. Looking at the image becomes a place for an appearance of Christ at rest, It is finished. He surprises the viewer with His divine image and potentially opens the heart and mind of the viewer. Images of Jesus Christ create a place of prayer, a moment to pause and rest and reflect. An icon is the window where the viewer participates in a suspended moment in time, transported into a dimension of thought, yearning or wonder.  The space existentially re-creates an event mystically right out of imagination. Imagine this all this was painted with little grains of sand and egg yolk called egg tempera.
