In Light of Women  

In many countries around the world, the female voice has not spoken or been heard, and likewise, their voices have not been recorded in iconography. I want to encourage the female hand and heart to create new modern icon paintings for liturgy and prayer. The call has begun with the attention being give to Mary Magdalene images. I pray women designers of icons will emphasize and open debates on how women are seen in the Christ story. He loved them, he taught them and saw them for who they were. Our iconic messages and insights will foster a more spiritually integrated world for all.

Any collection of iconography should include Mary Magdalene and many more  important women who influenced history and shaped the social  behavior through religion.
