Women inspire other women to pray for peace and justice in this world through their work at home and through their efforts in society. Our voices will have the potential to change the world when we get a big enough audience. I aspire to be one of these voices working as an iconographer in Mexico. In Light of Women was a book i wrote last year.
For 2000 years women’s voices rarely make loud demonstrative noises to get attention. Women are suppressed in under-developed nations in a variety of ways. Rights to work, own land, travel, family obligations, unwanted pregnancy, fair wages, etc. Here in Mexico violence against women is on the rise. Four of the women on our street do not have keys to their own house, they knock on the door to enter. Their husbands say they do not need them.
The virus has given us all time to reflect, analyze, and learn about the mess we have made of our society. We may know how to use a cell phone, but we still do not know how to be kind and respectful.
Humanity is walking straight into a new age of awareness, like it or not. Domestic violence, trafficking young girls, the weapons industry, immigration, government dictatorships, the banking industry, even rising sea levels, etc. are all dominated by men and their interests. You do not have to be a religious woman or an iconographer in Mexico to contemplate the idea there is a need for change. Women are affected by these industries and to hear their experience and opinions is vital to changing the course of our future. Their influence can bring about a more just world.
Women have not been given leadership roles.
Why have religious women not given leadership roles within religious organizations? We apply the same question to all industries. The world needs spiritual balance and cultural harmony between genders. Now it is crucial to build societies where understanding and commonality are found. Motherhood is one domain that women understand and express as love.
I am not confining motherhood to childbearing; motherhood is about nurturing and caring for someone other than yourself. Women are designed to nurture and protect what we have created and cherished. Let us embrace the feminine viewpoint in all its cultural manifestations around the world. Watch documentaries, read the commentaries of those who are trying to change the norm, and look for solutions to influence the ones closest to us. The Dali Lama said women have chosen not to speak. Focusing on the feminine viewpoint will transform our cultures and bring about justice on a global level.
Women and Men
Men that continue to dominate the landscape within the religious communities. They can surrender their authority somewhat to a more inclusive community of women and their insights. The voices of religious women have to be heard as they speak from the heart. Let humanity strive to be the highest intelligence and instruments of love for all life on the planet. W are divine spiritual beings and our concern the human family will change how we care for our planet. Women iconographers in Mexico like my self are contributing to the discussion.
My work is a small contribution to encourage discussions for change and new perspectives. I am an Iconographer in Mexico. My prayers, and interfaith beliefs are an attempt to change cultures and stimulate discussions on a global level. I pray for you and change for us all..
