Life is amazing, and we have hundreds of records of how inspiring it has been. All we have to do is look at the egg tempera icon painting era of the early centuries to see the energy.
The emergence of Homo sapiens is not an accident of unfathomable probability. We are thinking beings in a story, unique and inseparable from the created order. We are simultaneously both inside and outside of this order. We are aware of our physical body but also of the awareness of our soul’s light within us.
There is tremendous power in what we do, think, and say as we live out our lives.
Ripples of energy and connections happen every second and we usually aren’t even aware of it. We often radiate without even knowing. Life is awe-inspiring. It is an egg tempera icon painting of your image in transition. The mystics have known this, and the painters depicting the creation story have portrayed it throughout time.

The above image is from the Maciejowski Bible, 13th century. It is from an illuminated manuscript held at the Morgan Library. The egg tempera icon painting panel illustrates creation unfolding in sacred time, Kairos or Chronos.
In the first panel, God created the Heavens and the Earth. Look at his right hand, YOu will note that God holds an amorphous shape representing Heaven. Look at the left hand. You will notice the orb of the earth. Here the iconographer represented Earth as an undefined gray mass of potential.
The egg tempera icon painting on the lower left side, depicts the third day when the Lord makes dry land and brings forth every plant, seed, fruit bearing trees, and vines. It is significant to note the artist showed day and night growing plants. The fourth panel depicts creation with the sun, moon, and stars to govern the day, the seasons, and the years.

In this icon painting, God, the Creator, stands in the form of Jesus Christ. He is an icon and a perfect image of humanity.
Through the icon writer’s touch we can understand that there is a divine potential within humans, and it is to be loving, miraculous, dynamic, wise, and inspired. “
In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” “All things were made by him: and without him nothing was made that was made.” (John 1:1,3.)
I think one big difference between the man Jesus and the rest of us is his connection to Earth and our creator. His reality was one of awareness, knowing where he came from and to who he owes His gratitude and humility. He knew always that his mortal body was inseparable from the earth and to the earth he owed homage and respect. This egg tempera icon painting depicts Earth as His father’s creation. I wonder why the church continues to refuse any clear and deliberate instruction for humanity to love the Earth. It is a gift given in perfect balance.

Creation Egg Tempera Icon Painting of God’s Energetic power
When we let ourselves be loved by the creator and creation, we come to know the unending magnitude of our existence in, by, and through God. We have come from an undivided field of energetic light. The dome of light in church reminds us of a firmament called Heaven. From there, the angels look on, praising God’s work and our own.
Meditate and marvel at the big bang idea. At first thought, light arises in the mind. The indivisible moment of birth or conception is pure mystery. We come into the light. Where did we come from and how did it all come into being? Life is Awe-inspiring.
