Valentin Gomez, my spouse and I are both self-taught iconographers and have been quietly working together for 26 years. Valentin's work in hand tooled pewter is called the repousé technique. His master craftsmenship fits perfectly to my hand painted original Byzantine style icons. The techniques of Repouse and egg tempera are a perfect marrige. Our studio is open to visitors in San Miguel Allende, Mexico. Our dream is to add a few new Icons to those existing in the world, hoping that this great sacred art tradition will continue in liturgy and prayer for a long time to come.
