Well boys and girls… the dream I have been dreaming has finally come together in a life size construction waiting to be seen. Some of you have been listening to me for years about Art and Peace. When I started this I could not have known what I was getting into, and for a good reason. The projects size alone would have overwhelmed me. The fact that I really am going to get to the end is a delight and an accomplishment.
looking back over these empty frames thinking they might fall over, I smile over what I have learned. This structure will one day stand on its own , stable and strong calling out for a more Art and Peace in our world.
“What was I thinking?”
The finished work comprises the wood construction, 27 painting, clamps, braces, frames, mirrors, prayer wheels and more. I never dreamed it would work to transport the constructed 16 units which assemble and dis assemble for traveling.
The transport has been tested, to California and back, the fact that it still stands unscathed is so exciting. Taking an idea right out of the air, from paper to three dimensions has been a crazy process, filled with surprises and alterations, hundreds of decisions and choices. It is impossible to turn back, we still need a home for this Art and Peace Installation called the “Dialogue”.
