I recently heard on the news, Water is outselling Coke Cola in the USA. Good news for them since they sell both for almost the same price. They will not be loosing any money or have to invest in more technology or resources to sell us Water. It is the best kind of capitalism, take out the product, fill the container with water, change a few words in the Advertising and bingo, you are on your way again to yet higher profits. Its terrific, the Water is no more heavy than the coke, so they can use all the same trucks and routing! They will be selling water in every corner of the world, just like before without the sugar! They will not have to deal with environmental control people snooping about, testing the quality of Coke Cola, they are selling Water!
Do you recognize this kind of business? Coke cola is not alone, it is just one of the largest companies using the American Way, the brilliance of capitalism, free enterprise and consumerism.
Suggestions for our Coke Cola world.
How about taxing all companies who use plastic bottles, the plastic tops alone are sadly difficult for the penguin population. Those guys eat the tops but cannot digest them, after eating enough tops their little stomachs cannot take any more tops or fish so they starve to death. Many forms of marine life die from eating plastic. I imagine Coke Cola would like its consumers to be more mindful and screw on the tops when we are done drinking.. Water from a bottle like a child. Since we are so irresponsible about all the bottles we have to dispose of perhaps We the Consumer should be taxed for drinking.. Water!
Why don’t we pass a law demanding companies like Coke Cola to change at least the bottle altogether to something bio degradable, or bleed off some of their profits to clean up the environment, They have always been free to ignore any obligations to recycle their bottles. God knows the soft drink market makes huge profits, more now because so many are selling.. just Water.
I have wondered lately if Coke Cola owns part of Tibet or one of the ice caps, or shall I say, whats left of them. Ironically the carbon foot print for the transport and manufacturing of Coke Cola and now Water contributes a considerable amount to global warming and general pollution in the world. These huge companies work all night manufacturing plastic containers, it is a shame we do not a have an environment which can work all night to repair itself.
The Consumers are at Fault
Think about opening your tap at home and have a glass of water. Most of us did this as kids. Do your own taste test and see if the difference is really worth the cost of supporting this horrific industry. I know some places in big cities have retched tasting water, but not everywhere. How often do you buy that small baby bottle of Water and leave it someplace, unfinished? Couldn’t you wait one or two hours to have that incredibly important sip!
We are Paying for Water
We need it two times a day, leaving bottles everywhere and supporting an industry which is not interested in humanity or penguins is not going to change unless our attitude and heart changes. Water is like air, if we do not have it we die.
The bigger plan has no interest for you, me or penguins. For 12 decades they have flooded the market with Sugar Water and now will change to just Water, with little or no consequences paid for their huge profit and freedom to get bigger and better. They win and we loose because we are weak and apathetic. Its not so bad really, the sugar part was nice till we found out how bad it was for our teeth and too much glucose in your blood.
